Activity in the third quarter of 2017 at the Tangier Med Port complex is
growing

The most notable developments are recorded respectively for container


traffic + 12%, Trucks + 10%, Passengers +2% and Renault Melloussavehicles + 10%

CONTAINER ACTIVITY INCREASING
Container traffic reached at the end of the third quarter of 2017 over 2 404 728 TEU (Equivalent to
Twenty Feet unit), an increase of 12 % compared to the same period in 2016. The Import/Export of
containers traffic recorded growth of 17% compared to the same period in 2016.

PASSENGERS AND RO-RO ACTIVITIES: TRUCKS FLOWS GROWING
Tanger Med Passengers and Trucks port achieved a traffic of 214 485 trucks, 2 361 506 passengers and
604 207 vehicles corresponding respectively to a growth of 10 %, 2 % and 4% compared to the third
quarter of 2016.
The 2017 Marhaba campaign, which lasted from June 5th to September 15th 2017, recorded an overall
traffic of 1 625 801 passengers, 397 822 vehicles and 4 152 buses, an increase of 1% compared to
Marhaba 2016.
The campaign was carried out in very good conditions, with a peak traffic of 30 048 passengers recorded
on July 30th . For the return phase and due to the Aid Adha celebration, the port experienced two waves
during the return phase with a peak of 23 055 passengers and 5 118 vehicles on August 24th 2017 and
24 671 passengers and 5 441 vehicles on September 9th , 2017.

NEW VEHICLES ACTIVITY IN GROWTH
A total of 295 000 vehicles were handled on the two Renault and Common User vehicle terminals.
with almost 192 000 vehicles from the Renault Mellousa plant, up by 10% compared to the same period
in 2016.

HYDROCARBON ACTIVITY: COMMISSIONING OF THE SECOND PETROLEUM STATION
Refined product traffic at the hydrocarbon terminal reached 5’645’000 tons for the third quarter of 2017,
an increase of 0,5% compared to the same period in 2016. This growth is due to import of fuel oil.
