The record number was achieved on October 28 serving the CMA CGM, a vessel belonging to ADT’s long-term customer, CMA CGM Pegasus.

The new throughput milestone follows terminal operator ADT’s success in the first half of 2016, which saw Khalifa Port handle 11 percent more containers than the same period in 2015.

Bolstered by rapid growth in polymer exports and transhipment activity across the Gulf, 699,776 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) were handled in the first six months of 2016, up from 629,941 TEUs in the same period of 2015.
